Declaration of Informed Consent
The general aim of this study is to assess adults’ beliefs regarding why people have different skills, personality traits, and behavioral characteristics. The study is supervised by Dr. Donna Thompson, Professor of Psychology at Niagara University. The study was approved by the Niagara University Institutional Research Review Board (IRB chairperson: Dr. Paul Schupp ([email protected]).
I understand that to participate:
1. I must be at least 25 years of age.
2. I must be a citizen or current resident of the United States.
3. my first or primary language is English.

- my participation involves completing a survey based on my personal opinions and ideas.
- there are no right or wrong answers.
- my participation is voluntary.
- all data collected from me will be anonymous.
- my Prolific ID number will not be shared with anyone.
- the total testing time will be about 15 minutes and I will be paid $2.00 (USD).
